“Sheila, what do you want to be when you grow up?”

“An artist”

When I was 5 years old my brother interviewed me on his new tape recorder.  After I stated my name in the best shake-n-bake southern accent you ever heard, he asked me the question all kids are asked at some point. “What do you want to be when you grow up?”

Art has manifested itself in so many ways throughout my lifetime.  From decorating my dollhouse to running a non-profit that provided interior design transformations for families in crisis to event planning, being a partner in an art gallery to now creating behind a pottery wheel and designing at Grubb Engineering + Design. I’m married to an engineer, who is just as creative as he is smart and we raised two of the most creative humans.

I love simple designs with a splash of something fun. Sometimes a little kitsch is just the right thing to break up all that white.

I’m a beginner in the world of clay, but I’m enjoying the journey it’s taking me on.
